The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) welcomes the re-appointment by the Chief Executive of Mr Tim Lui as Chairman of the SFC for a term of three years from 20 October 2021.

“I am honoured to be re-appointed to continue leading the SFC as Hong Kong and its regulators play a crucial role in the continuous deepening of mutual access between the Mainland and the Hong Kong financial markets, while consolidating its status as an offshore Renminbi centre and developing itself into a green finance hub.  I look forward to guiding the SFC to embrace new challenges and opportunities while continue to maintain and promote a fair, efficient and orderly market,” Mr Lui said.

The SFC’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ashley Alder, said: “I am grateful to Tim for his support and guidance in the past three years which helped the SFC to achieve its core objectives of upholding market quality and protecting investors.  I look forward to continue working with Tim in his new term.”

The SFC also welcomes the appointment by the Financial Secretary of Mr Johnson Kong and Mr Dieter Yih as Non-Executive Directors for a term of two years, effective from 15 November 2021.

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mr Kong and Mr Yih who will bring to the SFC a wealth of knowledge and expertise.  I would also like to thank Mr Lester Huang and Mr Clement Chan for their contributions and support to the SFC Board during their term,” Mr Lui added.
